Avant Tot is written by local composer and experimental musician MaryClare Brzytwa, who has been teaching music to children for six years. It is a really awesome book that focuses on musical graphic notation and improvisation as a way to teach music! There are both "grown - up" and "student" instructions, so parents can learn how to practice music with their children as they learn the building blocks of music. Pretty rad!
So far we are the only store in Oakland that carries this book, so come pick one up for your little budding experimental musicians!!!
