New Art and Design!

New York based 3x3 Magazine comes out but three times and features three illustrators, as well as a showcase of up and coming artists in the advertising and design communities.

Esopus only comes out twice a year, so we get pretty excited when a new one comes in! This issue takes a slightly different format than past editions, it focuses on 12 projects (rather than three) and presents them without text (you can learn more about the artists on their website). It also includes 40 (!!!) removable inserts and 6 posters, as well as the usual music cd!

Communication Arts sponsors competitions in different visual fields: advertising, design, illustration, and photography, interactive and publish the winners in huge annual issues. Check out the 203 winners that made the cut in the newest Illustration Annual and visit their website for competition information!

Slanted is based out of Germany and focuses on one family of fonts per issue. This issue focuses on blackletter!

Esopus!

Can we just say we love love love Esopus magazine??? This beautiful publication comes out only twice a year and is completely ad free, in order to provide artists with a noncommercial forum. Each issue features three artists and includes a poster from one of the artists, as well as a CD of music based around a certain theme (this issue's is Nostradamus!).

We especially love the featured artist in the current issue - Alex Masket. He is a severely autistic 22 year old who cannot communicate verbally, but creates amazingly complex and strikingly composed mixed media works. Check it:
